2 HOW DID THEY SURVIVE??

I’m a big football fan. Watching the Premier League for ages now and seeing Queens Park Ranger (QPR)  got promoted is like the league back to the old days. After 15 years missing from a top flight football league, the life is not been easier for them. They know that there is a lot of works to do once they get back in the business.  But the effort to stay in the most anticipating, challenging, physical, and popular league can be seen. Air Asia boss Mr. Tony Fernandes  sees the opportunity in this wonderful club. The takeover has opened every eyes in our beloved country Malaysia. We all know Mr. Tony will not going to sit there and do nothing. He’s  there to bring QPR up and  to stay at the Premier League.

The relationship between the manager and the owner for me is the key at the very beginning of the season. Mr. Tony and Neil Warnock worked their socks off for QPR. Although I’m  kind of sad seeing Neil Warnock get sacked, appointing Mark Hughes who has the experience managing top clubs is utter brilliant. But credit to Neil Warnock for bringing QPR back to Premier League and his contribution cannot be deny. The objective is clear between these two gentleman. Neil Warnock have signed several players and some of them already a BIG player in the league. The likes of Joey Barton, Anton Ferdinand, Luke Young, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Kieron Dyer, and Danny Gabbidon just put WOW on my face. Not to mention present QPR’s players who is already a star in the Championship League. Adel Tarrabt is one of my favorite. Talented, stylish young midfielder. The appointment of Joey Barton as captain is correct. His skills and commandment on the pitch is well known since he was at Newcastle United. His has strong character and not afraid to speaks his mind whenever he feels like doing it.

The first game of the 2011/2012 season was a downer for The Rangers. They lost 4-0  at home to Bolton Wanderer which at the end of the season got relegated. It shows how tough this league can be and how fast things can change. The signing of several more players is needed and that is what Neil Warnock did. First half of the season we can see that playing at home not giving them much advantage. Lots of draw make things much harder for the whole team. We all know it is much easy to win at home for most of the team, but it did not work for us. the glimpse of relegation battle can be seen at Fulham’s Craven Cottage where we got beaten 6-0. And we also only manage to get a draw at home with Blackburn Rover at home which is unacceptable considering they also fight for the relegation. Chelsea at home is one of the great game I’ve ever watch. We won 1-0 and totally boost the spirit in the camp and lifting up the spirit among the fans and make us believe we can get something at the end of the season. Towards the end of December, we only manage to get 5 points out of possible 30 which is very terrible if you ask me.

Then the wind of change. Neil Warnock sacked and Mark Hughes was appointed. Mark Hughes quickly mark his present at this club with the signing of Djibril Cisse, Bobby Zamora, Fedrico Macheda, Taye Taiwo, and Samba Diakite. Looking at the others who fighting for relegation, it seems that QPR got the upper hand. With all the resources and full support from the board and the fan, this club is heading the right way. And the only way is up. Cisse and Zamora upfront brought fire power, Taiwo and Samba has brought the stability at the back. New face, new tactic, and new spirit. This team is exciting to watch as ever! The inconsistency brought us down. We won against Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs at home. But then get thrashed 6-1 at Stamford Bridge to Chelsea. As a supporter I’m hurt in the inside. Lost to fellow Londoners is not a good sign. Bragging rights, bantering is always on us. We’re at the lowest at that time. Winning against Stoke before the last game of the season, really give us hope. 3 valuable points that kept us just safe for a moment. It still fresh in mind how on earth did we lose but not getting relegated. No doubt win is the only choice which we don’t have to bother what Bolton’s getting at the Britannia Stadium against Stoke City. We must win. But the mission is like mission impossible. Manchester City, Etihad Stadium, they on their title hunt for the 1st time in 45 years. They need a win too. Is like we entering the lion’s cage. Waiting to rip us off. The match that I will never forget. Not just me I’m sure. I bet millions of fan either manu or mancity watching both games simultaneously. On the 39th minutes Zabaleta’s goal gave us a big blow. The stadium went crazy for a moment. Not for us but for them. I know we are better than this. And there comes Djibril Cisse with a fantastic goal! The stadium suddenly quite for a moment. They know Manchester United leading the Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. I was jumping like there is no tomorrow celebrating it, chanting every song I knew. I know we can do this. We can get out from this. It’s 1-1 and the opposite team attacking us like crazy with the likes of Aguero, Dzeko, Balotelli, David Silva, Samir Nasri. Wow what a team they had. Suddenly on the 66th minutes, out of nowhere JAMIE MACKIE scores!!! Fantastic flying header. Top top class act by the Scottish forward.

I’m going nuts. I still cannot imagine how he manage to score that. Fantastic. It just fantastic. I’m keeping touch with the score line at the Britannia stadium. Bolton lost. And we’re SAFE. Can u imagine that? Big PHEW there. It’s freaking crazy. Although we lost 3-2 at the very last minute, it doesn’t matter anymore. We still 1 point above the Wanderers.

I beg u please. I don’t want to have a season like this anymore. It’s  too nervous, and not good for my health. Congratulations to the R’s. You make us proud. Not giving up until the very last moment. I hope we can stay forever in this league.
